Assistants needing assistance

We are blessed to have President Fenn as our mission president.  I am not sure if we’ve mentioned it before, but he is the son-in-law of Elder Bruce R. McConkie—pretty much meeting the qualifications Elder McConkie must have set for the husband of his daughter.  It seems President Fenn practically has the Standard Works memorized.  He and Sister Fenn gave a presentation on Monday night at mission conference about the witnesses of the Savior’s resurrection.  Interesting and inspiring.
Tuesday, it was announced in our zone that Elder and Sister Challis would begin serving as assistant zone leaders.  Help!  Assistants needing assistance!   We will serve under Elder and Sister Robinson who had been serving as assistants.  Their hands are good hands for the zone to be in. We just need to follow and see if we can lighten their loads—and I need to learn a lot more about Excel!
My first “customers” on Monday morning at the library were a homeless couple.  I am not sure if the rainy morning drove them inside with their wheelchair packed with all their worldly goods,  but they did seem genuinely interested in creating a tree and trying to connect to family.   I also got to help Elder J again. This time I was determined to have more patience.  It was rewarding to help him add sources and correct mistakes in one of his families.  We worked for three hours—patiently.
We took our temple day and p-day last week to help Lindsey.  Thursday, we tended Luke and Elle all day.  They liked the car ride to Springville to pick up dance concert t-shirts and they liked the stroller ride in the afternoon.
Friday, we ran errands for Lindsey, assembled the foyer display for the dance concert, folded programs, and applauded the dancers and Lindsey in the performance.  Somehow, Lindsey managed to pump while she was directing the show from the control booth.   Saturday, we had to work until 9pm, but then returned to Timpview in time to help dismantle the foyer display and pack up a bit.  For ten years, I have been helping Lindsey in big and small ways be ready for “curtain time.”   Mixed emotions about the last one.
Joyous reunion on Easter Sunday morning at Christopher’s house with the Duncan family who had arrived the night before. They came to Utah a week early to enjoy family before Noel's marriage next Saturday. Happy hugs all around!  New cousins to meet.  It was fun to get a picture of Lindsey, Autumn, and Jaynie posing in the same place they had posed last fall showing their “baby bumps,” this time with their babies—the 2019 crew😊   Right at the top of my joy list is watching my kids and grand kids enjoy each other.
Happy Easter and happy hugs!

Phillip, Luke, Elle, Seeley--arrived!

A wonderful surprise visit at the library from our friends, Austin, Brandi, Elyse, and Dona.
