cordless!

I apologize to the few weekly readers of the blog for not writing last week.  No time or energy with the “missions.”  Happy to report this week from the “baby mission” that Luke and Elle are cordless!  We can carry them about the house now and try all the “keep-baby-happy gadgets” like the swing, vibrator, and space baby chair.  The twins left the house for the first time for “fun” on Friday.  At least, it was fun for Brent and Lindsey to go to a family dinner at Jaynie’s without arranging for a baby sitter.

Mitch and Lexi and their kids drove out from Kansas for spring break—it was hardly spring with six new inches of snow.  They stayed with Christopher and Melissa, but came to play with us in the Discovery Zone at the Library and walk through Temple Square.  On our p-day, Elder Challis got to drive one of the snow machines they rented near Heber, with Spencer flopping around behind, “hanging on for dear life.”   On their drive out from Kansas they detoured because of an avalanche; on the return, a flood.

Quite appropriately, I got to help a patron yesterday look for records of his Irish ancestors.  Happy to report success with the O’Flahtery family.  Much better than having to say “sorry” and send a guest away disappointed.

Halle, the English lady
Much of my research last week involved discovering who the six children who someone mistakenly gave to my great-uncle on family search really belonged to.  It was an enticing chase through the records, but I think most of the mystery is solved despite multiple marriages and names.  Turns out they were step-siblings (not even half siblings) to his two children. Our kids talk about “escape rooms.”  I told them if they want a challenging one, I can lock them in the Library until thy solve one of my mysteries.
No, we didn't go to St. George:  Mitch, Lexi, Halle, KK, Spencer and Logann

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Happy surprise!  Larry, Abby, and Porter Stotts from Olathe First Ward visit us at the library.
